FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Wednesday, October 12, 2016

Coal Creek Parkway trailhead temporary closure

The Coal Creek Parkway trailhead, between Forest Drive Southeast and Southeast 60th Street, closes today for approximately four months, so the city can build a new, 11-stall parking lot.

The project will formalize existing parking stalls, install new landscaping and add an interpretive kiosk and other park amenities. Although the trailhead will be closed, the majority of the Coal Creek trail system will remain open.

Parking access near Coal Creek Park (map of alternative parking in the area) includes:

  • Small parking lots along Forest Drive and Southeast 60th Street;
  • Cinder Mine parking lot located at 15484 Newcastle Golf Club Rd.; and
  • Red Town parking lot at Cougar Mountain Regional Park.

For more information, please contact Geoff Bradley, environmental programs supervisor, at 425-452-2740 or gbradley@bellevuewa.gov.
