Cultural Compass

Bellevue's Arts Program, guided by the city's strategic vision for arts and cultural investments - The Cultural Compass - provides funding to artists and arts groups working in Bellevue, creates and sustains public art works throughout the city and collaborates with other City programs and departments to include public art in City design guidelines and master plans.

Counseled by the Bellevue Arts Commission, a volunteer advisory group appointed by the City Council, the Arts Program manages a variety of projects and initiatives designed to bring the arts into Bellevue's everyday life.

The program's mission is to encourage and support the arts as a vital part of community life. From supporting local arts groups through the Eastside Arts Partnerships and Special Projects funding programs to presenting a biennial sculpture exhibition, the Arts Program is dedicated to enlivening Bellevue as the cultural hub of the Eastside.

A wayfinding kiosk features public art coordinated by the Arts Program.
Topos, by Maria Cristalli and Marc Brown. The Arts Program teamed up with Transportation and Planning & Community Development to incorporate art into a set of nine Downtown Wayfinding kiosks. Topos is the art element topping off the kiosk.
