 Regional Transportation ProjectsTraffic congestion remains a problem in Bellevue and throughout the Puget Sound region. The city works closely with the state Department of Transportation on projects designed to increase safety and reduce congestion on the important highways that run through the city: Interstate 405, Interstate 90 and State Route 520. Bellevue is also working with Sound Transit on the East Link light rail project and other transit improvements, and with King County Metro on bus options. The Bellevue City Council supports projects that make it easier to get in and out of the city.
